My path to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) started with my own experiences with anxiety.
When I attended yoga teacher training, I found that daily practices were needed in order to achieve long-term change. Talk therapy was helpful, and adding mindfulness and meditation provided permanent solutions to managing anxiety by changing my mindset.
As I began working with medical students experiencing anxiety in a student wellness program, I quickly discovered they had little time for traditional treatments, and inconsistent treatment jeopardized the success of any treatment.
To help medical students overcome this barrier, I created SMART to help provide a creative framework for integrating self-care into their daily routine and finding balance amidst their busy academic lives.
